Carbon Copy of Letter to Rudolph

Written by Wiley Benjamin Hill, Jr., to his brother Earl Rudolph, "Rudy", Hill, February 4, 1960.

Dear Rudy,

Heading surprise you?  Well, I swallowed my pride somewhat and took a job with another agency, if only temporary, selling tract homes from two models thaat I have showed to at least six thousand people in the past three weeks.  Had a grand, big opening on Saturday, with several nice looking school teachers showing prospects thru the houses.  Then, they were esc orted into a tent where experienced "qualifiers" took over.  After picking out: name, occupation, whether renting or home owner, and whether or not the houses impressed them or not, they could pretty well identify a "buyer". [Dad mentions that he sold four of these houses before opening day and fold four more since then.]  "I still have that golden touch, huh?"

[Evidently, the agency that Dad took this job with, was the Wayne Patton Agency; this was after we had moved out of FWB and were living in Wright, at "Cloverdale".  Dad had been "crushed" by his defeat in the election of 1955 or '56 for Tax Assessor for Okaloosa County and had kind of withdrawn from the active real estate business of the "Hill Agency".  To take this job he had to have his license reactivated.

Letters to Rudolph

Written by Wiley Benjamin Hill, Jr. to his brother, Earl Rudolph Hill, 19 Dec 1977:
[Partial extract of information; not verbatim...These are carbon copies, not the actual originals]

Address at this time is Middleton, Colorado

Dear Rachel, Rudy, and [Living], [Rachel is Rudolph's, aka "Rudy"] wife.

WBH, Jr. writes that he wants them to know that he cares about them and is having a difficult period where procrastination has been the rule of his days.  He mentions that he has just filed his income tax returns for the last several years.  He states that "the fire added to my delay and my many excuses".

Not sure if this letter was ever sent but thought it useful for the one or two historically interesting bits of info it gave.
